Fridge Photos
A fridge photo is read once in memory for that request. We do not write it to disk, a database, logs, or file storage, and we do not keep it after the request ends. The preview stays on your phone only while that page is open.
xAI
Fridge photos and the food list are sent to xAI, our photo-recognition provider, to read the photo and suggest dinners. A fridge photo is sent so xAI can name the foods in it. The foods you checked are sent, without the photo, so xAI can suggest dinners.
Each of those requests is sent with storage turned off. We do not keep the photo, and we do not put the photo in our logs.
What We Keep
The editable ingredient list on the fridge page stays in this browser tab with the dinner plan. We do not store that list on a server. You can rename a food, turn it off, or remove it. Remove every food to clear the list.
How many free plans this browser has used is kept in a cookie on this browser. ChefMyFridge does not create an account, so there is no account to delete. Closing the browser tab removes the dinner plan and the fridge ingredient list saved on this phone. Pantry picks stay on this device in this browser. They are not an account. Asking for dinners sends only the pantry names you turned on, together with the fridge foods you checked.
We set one cookie, cmf_quota, a random ID (no personal info) that counts your free plans, kept up to 1 year.
If you choose to enter your email on the dinner ideas page, that email and the dinner names are sent to our email provider. We may email you dinner ideas and updates. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
Selling Data
We do not sell your information.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. You can cancel anytime: tap Manage subscription on the plan page, which takes you to Stripe's secure page to cancel. Your plan stays active until the end of the paid period.
